what to expect during your session
On Set
If this is your first time in front of the camera, you are not alone! Photoshoots shouldn't be stressful or stiff, I want to build a welcoming atmosphere where you can feel confident and excited. Let's have some fun! This is the time to get creative, the options are limitless. Here is a little glimpse into what to expect during your session.
I. PRE SHOOT NERVES

If you feel awkward in front of the camera, I promise I look 10x more awkward behind it. Being in front of the camera is extremely vulnerable, so it's normal to feel awkward or nervous at the beginning! Starting the session with simple poses and chatting a bit about your day or what you ate for lunch helps to calm the nerves. Like anything else, we need to warm up!
II. FRIENDS + FAM

You are always welcome to bring anyone along with you as extra emotional support. (Yes this includes your pets!)

III. POSING

The most common thing I hear when starting a session is "I don't know how to pose". Don't worry about it, that's where I come in! My job is to direct, eventually you will start to learn what feels best to you. I love to capture both posed images as well as the real moments that happen in between.
IV. TAKE A BREAK

We can take a breather if you need! It's normal to need a moment after posing for 20 minutes straight, chances are, I need one too!
V. SLOW DOWN

I don't like to rush. If we go over 15 minutes because we wanted to get a few more shots, no biggie! The most important thing is that you feel confident in the photos we've taken.
